Teen & Child Therapy in Mesa, Arizona
Help for the Kid You're Worried About

You Know Your Child. Something's Off.

Maybe it's the slammed doors and the one-word answers. Grades slipping. Friends changing, or disappearing. Hours behind a closed door. Meltdowns over small things, or a quiet that wasn't there before.

Or maybe your child is younger, and it shows up differently — stomachaches before school, big emotions they can't name, trouble sleeping, behavior the teachers keep emailing about.

You've tried talking. You've tried consequences. You've tried waiting it out. When nothing seems to reach them, bringing in someone who knows how to reach kids isn't giving up — it's one of the best things a parent can do.

How We Work With Kids and Teens

Therapy with young people doesn't look like adult therapy — and it shouldn't.

For teens, it starts with a counselor who doesn't lecture, doesn't judge, and isn't Mom or Dad. A space where they can actually say what's going on. From there, our counselors use age-appropriate, evidence-based approaches — including CBT and DBT skills — for anxiety, depression, self-esteem, school stress, and emotional regulation.

For younger children, we use Play Therapy, because play is how children process what they can't yet put into words. Through play, a trained therapist helps kids work through fears, big changes, and big feelings.

Parents stay in the loop. You'll know how treatment is going and how to support it at home, while your child keeps the private space they need for therapy to work.

What to Expect

Your first appointment is simply a conversation. Your counselor will listen to what's been happening, what you've tried, and what you want to feel different.

Together you'll set goals and build a plan — practical skills you can use right away, alongside deeper work at your pace. Most clients start weekly, and many begin feeling some relief within the first several sessions.

Counseling is private pay. HSA and FSA cards are accepted, and superbills are available for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
