Anxiety & Depression Counseling in Mesa, Arizona
When Getting Through the Day Takes Everything You Have
More Than Worry. More Than Sadness.
Everyone feels anxious or down sometimes. This is different.
Anxiety that runs the show looks like a mind that won't shut off at night. Dread that shows up before anything has gone wrong. Overthinking every conversation after it ends. A body that stays tense, a stomach that stays knotted, and a constant sense that something bad is coming.
Depression isn't only sadness. It's exhaustion that sleep doesn't fix. Losing interest in things you used to love. Snapping at people you care about. Going through the motions while feeling nothing at all — and then feeling guilty about it.
If any of this sounds familiar, you're not weak and you're not broken. These are treatable conditions, and counseling works.
How Counseling Helps
Our counselors use evidence-based approaches with strong track records for anxiety and depression, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps you catch and change the thought patterns feeding the spiral; Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills for managing overwhelming emotions; and mindfulness-based approaches that quiet the mental noise and bring you back to the present.
Because anxiety and depression often have roots — old wounds, unprocessed experiences, long-held beliefs about yourself — our team's trauma training matters here too. When symptoms trace back to something deeper, we can treat the source, not just the surface.
There is no one-size-fits-all plan. Your counselor will build an approach around you.
What to Expect
Your first appointment is simply a conversation. Your counselor will listen to what's been happening, what you've tried, and what you want to feel different.
Together you'll set goals and build a plan — practical skills you can use right away, alongside deeper work at your pace. Most clients start weekly, and many begin feeling some relief within the first several sessions.
Counseling is private pay. HSA and FSA cards are accepted, and superbills are available for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
